Kat sent us an email answering our question from last episode about what we’re looking forward to (or aren’t looking forward to) in The Last Jedi.

Children of the Force #89 - "For Kids"
Tuesday Nov 28, 2017
Tuesday Nov 28, 2017
This week, we revisit what it means for something to be "for kids," talk about representaiton in The Last Jedi and beyond, touch on some news, and a grab bag of other stuff. Join us, and together we will rule the galaxy as father and son and daughter and listener....
STAR WARSY STUFF [0:55]
We’ve been playing quite a bit of Battlefront II.
Nick from London sent us an email, telling us about a connection he made between Steve from Stranger Things and Han.
Then I we go off on a long tangent about what is “for kids” and what that even means and how it means different things for different families.
Liam and I finished Ahsoka and started reading Servants of the Empire.
And we’re still watching through all the Star Wars movies in anticipation of The Last Jedi. We really like these movies.
Non-Star Warsy thing: We saw Coco and loved it. Go see it. Tonight. Or tomorrow.
NEWS [18:20]
We take a moment to appreciate how awesome The Last Jedi casting is, specifically talking about Laura Dern (Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo) and Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico).
Check out this article on time.com: http://time.com/5027043/new-last-jedi-characters-help-the-star-wars-galaxy-look-more-like-our-own/
And check out the Buzzfeed profile of Kelly Marie Tran: https://www.buzzfeed.com/keelyflaherty/the-rise-of-rose?utm_term=.vg7gpXe0A#.vlXzQnjb8
I’ve been lazily avoiding new information about The Last Jedi, but we talk about a bit of stuff that I don’t think it too spoilery.
CANON NEWS [32:50]
We’re talking Grav Ball.
JOKE [40:15]
What do you call a nerf-hot dog in a desert?
Q&A COUNCIL [41:25]
